It also work in Windows 7, 8, 2012 and 2016. Network & Sharing Jul 27, 2019 · I think the problem is that the default gateway on the linux side should be 192.168.160.1 but since it is outside the 192.168.170.0/24 network the WSL instance ends up without a default gateway. If I change the netmask to 255.255.240.0 and add the windows IP as default gateway on the linux side too, voila! problem fixed: IPCONFIG COMMAND LINE SWITCHES Reporting Displays no switch IP, subnet mask & default gateway addresses /all the above + hostname, MAC address, DNS server addresses, etc. /displaydns contents of the wireless ssid pops up and i can connect to it with my macbook but the internet does not work at all. I can connect to the router through 192.168.1.1 and have security setup etc. imy mac address shows up in the dhcp clients list. in the status tab everything looks normal except the default gateway is all zeros. So I changed the properties back to "automatically assign ip adres" and I went into cmd, I typed "ipconfig/all". It now shows NO default gateway, and it shows the ip that I copied from my laptop I immediately noticed that Default Gateway was empty. I tried a few of those netsh reset commands to no avail; either way this is a little over my head. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, and let me know if you need any more information from me. Thanks! EDIT: Also I'm using a Actiontec V1000H Modem/Router provided by my ISP.
May 25, 2011 · IP address and default gateway settings are assigned incorrectly. After you configure additional IP addresses, the IP addresses are displayed incorrectly when you run the ipconfig command. After you restart the computer, IP address settings revert to previous settings.
Jan 05, 2011 · When I plug my laptop up to our modem, all i get is local access. IPconfig gives me to default gateway or dns suffix. Naturally there is no wireless. My roomates laptop runs fine wired or not and we have the same set up. Apr 13, 2009 · I thought maybe it was the router, but I'm 100% fine on my playstation, tivo, and my laptop. I tried to do ipconfig/release but it tells me it can't peform operation on disconnected media (?). But when I do ipconfig, I get an IP addy and a Subnet mask, but no "Default Gateway" - I think that's the missing piece. Default Gateway should have your DG (router) If not put the IP in there and leave the Metric alone. Click on the Wins tab Change Default NetBIOS To Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP Click apply or okay under ipconfig i have nothing in my default gateway. i tried a ipconfig /renew however it says unable to connect to dhcp server. Everything is working fine in wireless and LAN, i just need to access the configuration of the router to change a setting for a new phone.
Mar 17, 2020 · If this is too much information, enter ipconfig | findstr "Default Gateway" and press Enter. This trims down the data that's returned in the Command Prompt window. However, this method is only helpful if you have one active connection since multiple connections would show the default gateways with no more context on what connection they apply to.
