I'll Apr 21, 2012 · I used Open Port Check tool to see if my 43594 port was open and it isn't. I went into my firewall and tried just turning it off and it still didn't work. I tried turning my firewall on and adding an exception for Port 43594 (using TCP Protocol) and the port 43594 is still not open so my server can not go online and my friends can not connect. Port 80 (tcp/udp) is forwarded to the server IP on router. (No linux firewall active) any help with this ? do I need to forward some more ports to the server machine ? It does not open or close a port. It forwards the port to a destination IP address. The port can be closed or open on the computer to which you forward. If you don't open the port on the computer, i.e. run an application which actually uses this port and makes it open this way the port will remain closed regardless of your forwarding. Much appreciate your quick reply and confirmation. I've signed up with No-IP, changed the DDNS settings in my Dahua DVR (already a default option) and similarly set up my Hub 6 including port forwarding port 80. Comcast had met set the Roku on it’s own reserved IP address and they had me do a port forwarding: Service: PlexMedia Server; Type: TCP/UDP; Start Port 32400, End Port 32400, Server IP: the reserved roku up address and it shows active. I still cannot connect to plex.
